Side shields hinged to fold in

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.

G'day Robbo,
very dapper mate! checkerplate too, nice work. I like how compact you made it. What do you think it weighs?

Only about 5-10 kgs Skip.
The tabletop and shields are aluminium checkerplate so the whole thing is still quite light.

Hard to guess the price Muzz
Knocked most of it up at work and was able to scrounge all the materials except for the hinges. Hinges alone were about $35 at Mitre 10 (which is a small price to pay for the complete table).
The checkerplate is 6mm aluminium, and I would hate to guess what you would pay in the shops.
Pretty much used you guys comments, table is 800x400, shield is 400 high. Would have liked to put folding legs on it as well, but I was making do with what I had and was pretty keen to finish it.

Look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.
