Well!!
Work is sending me to Townsville for 6 weeks as of next Wednesday (28th), Not sure wether it is because I've been a good boy or punished for being a bad boy Grin Grin Grin
Will be staying in Eyre st Nth Ward,
Do we have any members up there who might be interested in showing me around a bit????

Bit aprehensive about it, I've never been on a plane before or out of NSW for that matter!
keen to do some fishing while I'm there too, any takers?

Mick.

Mick, you will enjoy it up there.  Good time of the year to go as well.  Cairns in winter is really nice.

Crazy_Dog ... is up there somewhere.

Townsville is a very big city so heaps to do

Warning if you value your health be sure to wear insect repelent constantly and most importantly at night  Townsville is where Ross River virus was discovered and take it from someone who has it badly "you domt want to catch it" as well take the warnings about dengie fever seriously as well.

You just need to wear replellent anytime you are outside apart from that its a great place if you geyt the chance get out to Charters Towers and you are only 4 to 5 hours from Cairns you will have a ball the Strand pumps at night with backpckers and this time of year is the best time lovelly and warm and heaps going on

great people and great town/city

Mick,
I'm 4 hours south in Mackay. Will you get a few days off and have transport.
Bring everything you own with you as you won't want to go home after you experience the Central Queensland climate.

Thanks for the heads up Furph,
Sooty,
The buggers won't give me a vehicle up there even though I have a company vehicle here, which I'm a bit pissy about, I would have rather driven up so I had transport & been able to see a bit of what is in between.
I have a mate from here who is working at Mackay at the moment who drove up, so I might try to hook up with him on the weekends.

Mick.

Tis quite a miserable day actually.  Hasn't rained my side of town yet but certainly looking as though it is trying.

I bet Newcastle was colder when you left.
