I posted this, this morning but it disappeared, so here we go again

Love In The Scrub

This is a story, seldom told
Of a great aussie icon, brave and bold
Tracking the beast of the land down under
Boldest of all, the great Yowie hunter

Not always consumed by his ongoing quest
Once just a bushie, and one of the best
Weekends would find him roaming the heights
Of the great blue mountains, till one fateful night

One night by the fire, after a feed
A pain in the guts, signalled the need
To relieve himself, so off he trod
Into the dark, to snap off a log

Relief came at once, as he squat near a tree
A quick wipe with some leaves was all he would need
Breaking a branch from the bush by his side
Revealed a face staring back, its eyes open wide

Before he could move the beast sprang so fast
And our friend the bushie, thought that he’d breathed his last
Pinned underneath, all he could see
Was a snarling face, “Oh, my god! Why me?”

Then the moon lit their faces, with a soft gentle light
As they stared at each other, it was love at first sight
As if for hours, they stared with such bliss
Till finally their lips met, in a long loving kiss

The following months saw many trips to the mountains
Where their love flowed, like a beautiful fountain
The fruit of their love soon came to bear
With the birth of a boy, all covered with hair

A marriage soon followed, his family all there
Witnessed the declaration of the love that they shared
His bride looked a vision, a sight to see
With the help of some wax, and Gillette 33

As years passed along, the love that they shared
Started to dim, till no longer there
His bride she soon left him, with the milkman you see
Leaving him the single parent, of a little Yowie

The bills mounted up, his bank account dry
What was he to do? Bankruptcy seemed nigh
You see for him to claim family assistance
For a Yowie child, he’d need to prove their existence

So started his quest once again in the scrub
To secure a future, for his hairy bub
This quest has consumed him, taken over his life
Who knows, one day, he may find his future ex-wife

That cracked me right up!  The mental image of a Yowie in a beauty salon.    Shocked

It's a pearler - well done!

My mother-in-law fell down a wishing well, I was amazed.       I never knew they worked.
