hehehehe  I succeeded in melting the handle on my "genuine" Cobb too....  Too many heat beads and the lid on too early when starting them..  My own silly fault.  Shoulda used the chimney starter..

I have used the Anaconda Cobb many many times and it is running as well as my older one (6 years old)

After discussion with Rastas and Derek and self at the Kingsthorpe COG, when I had a Cobb Cobb and Rastas had an Anaconda Cobb
- they are the same/identical from the same source, just two different retail sales systems.
There is no difference in quality.

Reading through this thread and also the one from ExplorOz.com, it appears to me that you are all missing the point with Anaconda.  What is it about the Cobbs they are selling that keeps failing.  I read about splitting lids, melting handles and such which I can assure you that mine is still as sturdy as the day I got it!  I bought it from a non-Anaconda store.  I just put 2 and 2 together and will stay well away from Anaconda for my Cobb parts and heat beads/stones.  Most times I have been in there, they don't have what I am chasing.
Sorry Anaconda, not good enough!
You do sell lots of very good equipment for all other areas of camping and outdoors, but I won't risk it having read other peoples experiences.

I am guessing the serial numbers would be the answer...

I need to take mine back as the handle has melted a little, and it should not have....  It is still very usable..

I have not got the Cobb with me on this trip as I decided to take the Camp Oven Mate and a couple of spun steel ovens...

Hi Steven,

Cobb Australia is refusing to warranty any Cobbs bought from Anaconda (they're grumpy with us for cutting them out) Smiley

However, we offer a full lifetime, replacement warranty - much more than they do.

Regards,

Toby
Anaconda

ps. thanks everyone for your support.

Bob

what I am saying is how would they know if it was purchased from  Rays. BCF, Anaconda or some little store that was selling the last if their stock.

I know I never keep a receipt.

Have you got yours on your adventure with ya? I have been a bit slack with mine, the CO's are getting more of a run.

still cant see how or why Cobb Oz would not or can not warrant any probs with the cooker.

It is understandable.. If they did not import it, and did not make profit from it, why would they accept the risk for warranty????

Same thing applies if you buy  some electronic gear from an overseas vendor.  Sometimes you have to return the item to the country of origin to get warranty..

There is much m ore than meets the eye with these cobb's based on what the rep from Anaconda has said.  Either way, I have an Anaconda Cobb and am happy with it..

I have purchased a few items via phone and can vouch for Anaconda's service and the fixed price postage is great.
