I have a confirmed booking to conduct six hours of camp oven cooking demos at the Woodgate Fair on Easter Monday.

Here is a link to the event if anyone is interested in coming along.  http://www.about-australia.com/events/queensland/bundaberg-coral-isles/events/ex...

Quote:
The Woodgate Beach Easter Fair is held every Easter Monday and is the largest event in Woodgate Beach. It attracts over 150 stall holders and well over 6,000 visitors. The fair is a great family day which starts at 7.30 a.m. and finishes late in the afternoon.

There are lots of food stalls as well as rides and attractions for the whole family who can experience rock climbing, Bungy jumping, camel rides, Old MacDonald’s Farm and lots more. The Bundaberg Broadcasters will be broadcasting live from the centre of the action, and there will be professional entertainers performing live on stage, as well as Highland dancers and a variety of Community displays including a fire engine called Little Squirt. There will be exhibits by local artists, local craft on sale as well as fine wine, food and gourmet cheese. Vintage cars, antique machinery and large boats will also be on display.

Called in at Woodgate this morning on our way back from camping at Gin Gin. Saw the Master at work in not ideal conditions but still drawing a crowd. A few pics of Derek at work. He can give a report.

Half way between Hervey Bay and Bundaberg.

Like your camp oven table. Is it a home made or modified something else.

Any other pics Smiley

THanks for the photos Keith.  Was great to catch up.

What a day.  I woke at around 5.00 to hear rain on the roof of the camper.  Not good ...................... There were 50 displays/stalls who turned up and left and even with that, it still was a very large turnout.  Weather didn't seem to keep the people away.

Was ready to cook at eight and it basically just continued to rain and shower for the whole day with it culminating in the really heavy downpours you would have all seen on the news.

The camper came home wet AGAIN and is out on my front yard.

Had a pretty good day cooking wise as I was able to set up under the awning.  What surprised me was the number of people who wanted to know how to cook damper.  I ended up cooking two of them served with cocky's joy and must say that they really turned out quite good.

At one stage we had a change in wind direction and before I knew it everything got soaked and my heats beads went out on a lamb roast I was cooking.  Fortunately was able to crank up again pretty quick.  Actually surprised me how quickly they died.

Overall a very successful display and no I don't have any pics.  Really hard to take them when you are on your own and with the wet weather.
