Thanks Derek for taking the time and trouble (again) to resize my pic.
Not really Jaffle Irons, but not sure where else to post this, Aussie Bush Kettle road test tonight sure was spectacular and Beryl had a very quick cup of tea when she arrived home. You cant see the Kettle, just the flames, but the point is that it works!

Can I buy round jaffle irons in Australia

I like the round one because they seal on the edges and no mess

Hi Rod,

There are very few, if any round JI's to buy new in Australia.  The only ones I know of are the Furphy (cast Iron) and the Hillbilly (spun metal).

Round cast aluminium JI's are on eBay regularly....

Aim for no ,more than 20 dollars per "hole" if in good order...  Check second hand stores too..

A furphy, is Australian slang for a rumour, or an erroneous or improbable story.  You would never get anything but the plain honest dinky-di truth here... I promise!!!!  Yup, hand on my heart, promise, true blue, uh-huh true dinks, dead set!!

Saw what looked like an electric JI at the Bathurst Swap Meet today Bob, reason I mention it is because it was possibly home made and certainly wouldn't have passed a WorkCover inspection.
Your normal JI affixed to an element with wiring into the top half ??? Wiring was very sus so I passed on the bargain price of $28, did I do the right thing ?

If you are in Brisbane, the Antique emporium at the top of Paddington has a few right now...
