Slipped up to Townsville yesterday and am staying in the Walkabout Palms Tourist Park. Haven't worried about photos, nothing but rain at the moment but have included a link to their site.
Not the cheapest, but reasonably priced. Nice and clean, big pool, playgound for the billy lids and all the facilities. Security gate to keep the idiots out, choice of van sites or comfortable one and two bedroom self contained villas.
Virtually on the highway but set back enough that you don't get the traffic noise and it's easy enough to slip into town from here a couple of different ways.

May your glass be ever full.
May the roof over your head be always strong.
And may you be in heaven
half an hour before the devil knows you're dead.
