Great report there Grizz, and a beautiful damper too. Outstanding effort mate.
Did the Jumbuck stew get the thumbs up. I reckon that pumpkin really would make it taste great.
Thanks for the feedback.

A feed like that would have to earn you an honourary Aussie status Grizz. bloody beaudy mate. Can't beat lamb in my book, and done in the CI makes it all the better.
Keep em comin'

the most important ingredient is the one 2nd from the right (in the brown bottle with the vb logo)

When Mackerel Whisperer sees that VB in your photo, you'll have a new best mate.

For the most part it did.  When trying a new recipe I usually stick to it the first time, then make adjustments from there.  I should have headed your warning and cut back the sugar - Mrs. Bear thought, while very tasty, it was too sweet.

There is quite a story behind that bottle of VB.  I have a buddy that is a professional Go-Kart Mechanic and has spent several seasons Down Under tuning Karts for a race team.  I'm guessing that they must have been based out of Victoria because he always talks about the team drinking a fair share of VB.  So when my daughters boyfriend went "home" for his brothers wedding, I asked him to bring back a couple of VB so I could try it.  Being a Queenslander, he asked why I would even want a VB - but gave in and brought it to me anyway...  It's a sad truth that finding Aussi beer (other than Fosters) in the US is a tough task...
