Firstly Jack it is a Lodge 6" a handy co for people wanting small amounts cooked.  I have had it a while I think it was on sale at Cabelas but not sure, of course the shipping was a killer but its cute and useful.

Now on the minimal stuff:

Today I think I did fairly well.

First off made a pizza dough that would do two but decided for my taste it would do three and put 1/3rd in a plastic cliplock bag for another day.

I used a Perfect Italiano Pizza Plus cheese (Mozarella, Cheddar and Parmesean) which was already grated so no need to take a grater or three kinds of cheese.

I only had one pizza pan and on looking back I could have made pizza without any pan.  For the second one I did use a piece of baking paper on a flat trivet I have for roasts.  Now I know Derek says paper or alfoil is not necessary but having the paper allowed me to put it in the co and take it out in a reasonable condition.  I didnt put the trivet in the oven just used it to help me shape it.

Thirdly the heat beads did the two pizzas with heat to spare so that must be a plus also.

Now even Sparky liked this but for some of you like me it lacked a few essential ingredients like olives, anchovies, garlic and chilli but the Danish Salami had a kick and almost made up for this.  It had the salami, red and green capsicum, red onion and wasnt bad at all.

This is the pan version which I cooked first.

This is what I call the freeform one, not as pretty but tastewise equally as nice.

Carolyn/KD - Can you tell me what posting this CO from the USA cost?

Cheers,

Rob the 12" camp chef Mulley you see in this lot of photos was bought as a starter kit  from Annaconda.  I received the 12" Mulley CO with Lid and a 12" CI pan that the lid fits and what I call a 12" Cast Iron grill all for about $90.   I think at the time Annaconda were charging a minimum delivery all over oz (I have forgotten but it was under $20) and several of us got them.  I would suggest you ring Annaconda and see if this is likely to happen again.

Michaelb - I guess the wine goblet fits the minimum picture also - I am not fussy what I drink out of if I want a drink but Sparky is fussier and we have two sets of pewter goblets that we have replaced for camping with two of these stainless steel ones that cost ....... wait for it 50c each at Vinnies  Cheesy

On the minimum story:  Monday night we had a bbq using the park facilities.

The fish catching is not going well so we bought a minimal roast for two at a supermarket which I cooked tonight Tuesday.  There is enough for lunch tomorrow, it is well cooked as we like it and surprisingly very tender (must be the cook). Cheesy

I used up the last of the vegies from home and cooked it all in the one pot.  I simply used a bamboo stick to poke the meat to see if it was ready by the colour of the juices so that saved having to bring a temperature gauge.

You might wonder why no desserts have been cooked, mostly when we go away we stick generally to what we would have at home and dessert for Sparky is something from the fridge and his favourite at the moment is rice and yoghurt.  I am not that into dessert on a normal day to day basis but I do enjoy it at cogs and party times. Cheesy

Rob I am sure others can advise you better but if you did decide to order one from the US consider getting a Deep Version as this is sometimes not deep enough for bread cakes etc on a high trivett.

Cabelas in the US does ship to Oz thats where my camp oven table came from.  Dont get too excited by the Free Shipping that doesnt apply to us here.

We woke this morning to fine drizzle but the southerly had not hit.  A few options but I decided to use up the extra pizza dough I had in the fridge.  Still waiting the anticipated southerly I took the most simplest option and divided the dough into 8 (bit small should have made it 4-6) rolled it out let it rise and then fried it on the free gas bbqs.  Equipment required = oil and spatular.  I sliced up some of the roast beef which was moist still.  If you think this doesnt look like much food Sparky supplemented his share with one of his faovurite camping treats a bacon and egg sandwich.  Its a DYOT for breakfast and he just cooks double, how easy is that  Cheesy

Its just a lovely place to be.

Sometimes the locals arent that friendly to each other, these two were very aware of me and my camera and this was round 2 which was tame compared to round 1 which had caught my eye.  The colour could have been better but I have only done one or two video bits with this camera.

Glad you enjoyed Grizzly.  Its a sleepy coastal town population stated as 500 but I doubt that many in the quiet season.

Lots have come here for years and several generations for holidays.  Fishing is the predominant sport and its done from the banks and beach and boats of all kinds and sizes.

It is now a council run park with good facilities but of course its not free.  Once they supplied wood and fires could be sat around and cooked on but not any more.

Hi Carolyn - thanks for the thread, following with interest and learning a good deal.

Thanks also for the CO info, I'll be in Melbourne for work in a couple of weeks and will be staying a few minutes from the Anaconda South Wharf store, will pay them a visit.

Cheers,
Rob

Rob I learnt years ago that sometimes when your a beginner its easier to learn from another one (on computers  Cheesy )

I put my stuff in the hope that other beginners like me can give things a try and see that you dont have to end up with perfect results for food to taste good.  The experts give us something to aim for and I am not knocking the excellent posts of great stuff in here.

Sparky got lucky last night  Cheesy
