Hi , my name is Peter and found this forum whilst searching for advice on cooking for larger numbers , eg 20 to 30 people .
Going away this weekend and roast lamb and Beef is hopefully going to survive my oversight.  hope the people I'm going with have a can of Baked beans for a back up. Grin

Welcome from California too -   Smiley

You'll find that a bunch of us cook for large gatherings, a group of 20 is an average Saturday night around our barn - please feel free to ask questions and I know we will all pitch in.

There are a bunch of really good teachers on this site and all very willing to share their experiences.

You'll know when the pots are empty and the camp is full of contented faces. (It reads like you're close to the money for 20)

Well things went really Well.
As with groups,  people come and lend a hand . The girls cut and wrapped the potatos .  They buttered the alfoil to
I was shocked when I realised they cut the sweet potates in quarters as we normally just cook them whole .
The carrots were wrapped as well which is something I normally don't do, but with lots of them what else do you do . They turned out really nice though.
The onions went in the ovens though.
The pumkin was wrapped and I didn't like them that way I think they would have been better off in the oven.
As for the meat .  Only one oven had a trivit, I think that's what they are called which the meat sat on. The other 2 just sat on the bottom.
Meat was perfectly cooked . Every body was happy and we had 2 slices left which the dog enjoyed .
Picture below is the fire of course and If you look closely the whole fire bed is covered with wrapped vegies.
