Does the meat get greasy or fatty RT?  (KFC)?
I have seen Turkey deep fryers & flavoured oils for sale in Cabelas & often wondered how the meat would taste.

I didn't see the turkey come out of the fryer.
Pete said that the oil needed to be just a little hotter, hence the skin was not as crispy as was required.
Next time he will do it with a better gas flame underneath to maintain that 250C whilst deep frying.
He said after the turkey went in it did not return to the 250C as expected
The meat was notlike KFC..

Deep Fried Turkey
Jul 6th, 2010, 9:00pm

My mate that does his own smallgoods and make cheese at home, did Christmas in July on Sunday.
I was unable to attend due to limited mobility.
On Monday he turns up with a picnic pack of left overs and photos of the deep fried turkey.

He built a pulley system under a trestle.
Lowered the turkey into a tall pan with 18 litres of oil at 250C over a gas burner.
Cooked for 30 minutes.
It tasted very good and was moist.

If you look closely, you can see that he is a colleague of mine.
