I made this the other night while camping at North Pool near Wiluna. Turned out a treat. But didn't take photos so have done the recipe again at home with the extra yabbies I caught to put into dishes for work dinners.

FIERY YABBY PASTA
500g Bowtie pasta
125g butter
Clove of garlic
S & P to taste
1 onion
As much chilli as you like (I like a lot!)
As many yabby tails as you can catch
600mL thickened cream

Cook yabbies, and peel and set aside.
Cook pasta in CO till al dente and set aside. Melt butter and fry off garlic, chilli and onions. Add salt and pepper as you please. Add cream, bring to boil and simmer till thickened. Put yabby tails and pasta in then stir and serve.

Used this recipe and kind of modified it for the camp oven: http://allrecipes.com.au/recipe/20434/fiery-yabby-pasta.aspx

Yeah its fantastic. For people who aren't chilli fans, that can always be cut back a bit. It was easy to prepare at camp which was great. Obviously would work well with prawns or squid, maybe even chicken

Well presented tadpole   Smiley Smiley

I would have stopped once the peeling stage was completed  Grin

Love a feed of yabbies  Smiley

Better in texture and taste to prawns in my opinion.
