Rory makes a great bread using the no knead method that is quite good.

The Buns Kingbrown makes these days are a semi no knead method and leave anything I can make for dead.
He had just finished making some when I last visited and they were some of the best Ive ever tasted.
I think his recipe is around here somewhere.

Looks good diesel. I'd given up on bread after some terrible outcomes in the oven inside. Then with last months challenge, gave it another go and found CO bread is easier than gas oven bread. And its more fun  Cool

That is a great looking bread Diesel. If that was your first attempt then you are off to a flying start for sure. I love making bread, The sight and smell of a fresh loaf coming out of a camp oven is Kingbrown heaven Smiley
Glad you like the rolls the other night SBB. I am cooking for a hundred people tomorrow night and they wanted me to do the bread rolls to go with everything else, I talked them into having damper instead. Thats a lot of kneading.  Grin I would have like to have done it but I am also cooking 30 kilos of meat and a couple of hundred potatoes so with the bread I would have been using about 20 ovens. They are forecasting some horrendous weather for tomorrow too so it would have been interesting trying rise the bread. It is going to be hard enough to keep the heat up to everything anyway as I will be working under a tarp  Smiley

Thanks Kingbrown.

The smell of the bread in the camp oven triggered memories from near on 60 years ago. I grew up not far from a suburban bakery and I was always drawn to the smell of freshly cooked bread. I would stand near the back door of the bakery with a sad dog look and wait until one of the bakers took pity and gave me a half loaf to munch on. The 'good old days' or maybe not when I think of what we have today.

They are a work of art Kingbrown.

Smart thinking with the star pickets, looks like they provide just the right height.   Smiley
