Some of you may have seen a few pics I put up the other day of the initial stages on this build but I'll put them up here again so as to capture the whole thing.

Block Work started just after XMas.

...

Side frames made up.

...

...

...

...

1st test burn with a make shift Fire Box Cover.

The air Inlet.

...

The 1st & second course here have a Stainless Steel plate in the join so they are sealed from the rest of the brick work & then the outlet into the firebox is up a few inches to allow for the 1'' or so of Fire Clay render that is yet to be put in the base of the firebox.

...

...

...

...

Still have another two holes to go in this side but I broke the pilot drill on the holesaw.   Angry

...

...

...

...

...

...

...

I ended up cutting the Fire Box Lid away from the Door Panel as the heat was making the top swell & distorting the whole thing.
Now the Door Frame is a separate item.
Had two failures with cutting some Pyrex Glass so far, only one piece left to play with now so I think I will take it to some-one who knows what they are doing.

The first one, I tried to cut it on our Water Jet at work but it didn't end well.

The second was a rear Window out of a Suzuki Sierra (toughened glass) which I tried to score & snap........not good!

Door frame & lid are ready to go, need to mix up another batch of refractory clay/mortar & seal the fire box in.

Going to use a piece of plain glass for now, salvaged from an old fish tank.

Door getting done for the Rope Seal.
SHS welded around the rim & then cut the middle out of it to form a channel for the rope seal to sit in.

...

...

Seal in place.

...

& Hinged to the frame/front panel.

...

Fire Box finished & did the 1st burn.

Works a treat!   Wink

...

...

The Fish Tank Glass cracked as expected.
No bother it was temporary but the crack does not effect how it works & that is what matters to me!

Damping/ Temperature control is right in the sweet spot!
Had it up over 80 with ease & easily running at 46 as I lost the day light (no pic)

...

...

...

...

No shortage of smoke.
The neighbours are gonna think the shed is on fire.   Grin

...

Apple Wood on the Left & Plum on the right.

...

Now to get 1/2 a Pig & go for it!   Roll Eyes

Still need to render over that Firebox lid with Refractory mud too.
Bit of a worry ATM with Young kid/s. Basically a big BBQ plate at just the right height to put a hand on it.  :-\

P.s
Photo Bucket sucks Donkey Balls!   Embarrassed

Mick.
