Very relaxing weekend for us. Starting to get the camp cooking juices flowing again  Smiley

We didn't overdo it foodwise. Baked potatoes, bacon and egg jaffles, slow simmered corned silverside, Cornish Pasties, Fritz schnitzels  and I think  that was it. Enjoyed tasting shackles sausage roll, jam drops, mashed potato. Loved Little g's  Grin baked pumpkin and meatballs in a superb sauce.

A ripper of a camp oven camping location. We all agreed to go back next year between may and September inclusive.

May have a backyard gathering at Little g's  Grin between now and then.

Thanks fellows......I hope to get to the next COG where ever that is for SA....

Dave we are hoping to do it at the same place next year so  as Derek has suggested we should start looking for  a couple of dates and try to make it a BIG gathering

I have been tempted by the word "pumpkin" and have to remind myself that you all say that word and mean what is squash to N. Am.  See http://www.veseys.com/ca/en/search?keywords=squash  and check for Winter Hubbard or Sweet Mama as closest to pic above of  'the vegetable'.

& here are some varieties of what we call pumpkin http://www.veseys.com/ca/en/search?keywords=pumpkin

Of course, as this recent news article says all of these veggies are generically squash.  http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/joe-jutras-gourd-pumpkin-growth-1.4349415  Do you all have any competitions for the like down there.  BTB remember it's fall up here now.

Oh, yes Little G, I saw a post of yours somewhere about a drop in # of posts these days (i.e. with the warm sunny days).  Or plenty of readers.....

Not sure if anyone here has a high enough camp oven to fit this pumpkin  Tongue

And the look of shock/horror on everyone's faces when I asked if anyone minded that I used my "Bong" was worth bottling  Grin
