Yeah I might just buy a brand new lid for it in the new year and put this one away for a spare

Tadpole you should have got a warranty with that fridge. So if the lid is no good warranty should cover it. Give then a ring.

The fridge is a factory second so I doubt warranty would cover it.

Yeah I didn't think of that shackles. I was thinking the same as Derek. My wife bought it for me so I'll see if she has the receipt

Sorry jclures, completely missed this comment. Turns out she has lost the receipt. So I'm just going to buy it a new lid. I have noticed it has a magical habit of shutting off randomly when plugged into a 12V outlet. But works fine on 240V. Have been thinking about maybe changing it to an Anderson style plug see if that helps.
