I have a Woody, 9 inch square aluminium camp oven.
Derek also has one.
I have no end of trouble trying to regulate heat and maintaining the temps. Has caused me much frustration.
My suggestion is not to bother with aluminium.

I actually got rid of mine to Rastas  Cool

I have a 15 inch Aussie oven company aluminium oven and I use it for the dishes that it is good at. Mainly anything cream based or deserts as it is very forgiving with heat and wont burn your food. Not that I would burn the food anyway  Wink but I can throw the ingredients in and let it do its thing on the heat and get back to looking after the other ovens. If I had the same dishes in cast iron I would have to concentrate a lot harder on the heat control. So I like it for that. I have cooked dampers in it when I was short of ovens and it took ages and a lot of heat. A very forgiving oven for a beginner or good for delicate dishes, that is my take on them anyway.
