I tried to roast a couple of them but the slippery little suckers kept on sliding off the spit poll
Do you have any tips that you can give me so I can use to keep them on Rufz?

  Heat  a skewer in the fire until very hot. Then, holding an egg in a gloved hand, gently, but firmly, wiggling the point of the skewer into the egg and carefully pushing it through to the other side.

Problem
1 my skerwers are made of wood so impossible.to heat up
2 how do you attach skewers  to spit poll
3 how do I know when the white bit is cooked but the yellow bit is still runny
