While I was in Canada in September I just happen to take a photo of a Monarch Butterfly. It was tagged  to my surprise, when I had a look at the photos when I got home.
I have send a photo back to Canada for the tagging program.

I remember seeing a documentary on the Monarch once and they can apparently travel quite some distance.

I love seeing these sorts of photos.  Thanks for sharing Bonnie.

Yes we have them in our back yard.....attracted by milk weed that sometimes grows here..to height of 8ft

I let couple grow that height to attract the butterflies ...the plant needs to be that high to support the maybe dozen catapillers


Went it's time to pupate the catapillers wonder away..some up to 30ft away..to morf hence finding them on Jasmin trellis 14ft from the plant

One butterfly I am trying to take a photo off, is the Ulysses butterfly in the wild, I often see them in the garden .
