hey guys i have found a great camping place called flanagans reserve this great campsite is in the beausdesert shire From Brisbane and the Gold Coast travel to Beaudesert then follow the Mt Lindesay Highway 30km to Rathdowney, then 0.5km south of Rathdowney turn right into the Boonah/Rathdowney Rd. Follow this road for 7km and turn left into Upper Logan Rd. Follow this road for 4km to T-intersection and turn right into Flanagan Reserve Road, which takes you into the Reserve. Drive on a short way and you’ll find the amenities building and the office/kiosk, where you are requested to register on arrival.
Camp fees are an extremely reasonable $5 per adult per night and $2 per child aged 5 to 15 years - under 5's are free. For Enquirys or Bookings Please Phone - 07 5544 3128 if you need any more info Email :- ranger@flanaganreserve.com.au :D :-* happy camping guys camper bear |

hey wazza as far as i know the logan river runs through the reserve and there are suppose to be fish in it; as for myself i have never caught any.not for the lack of trying. hope to see you there sometime camper bear

hey wazza this place is almost free. also you can take pets there; i have not found many places that allow pets; if anybody knows of any places please let me know cheers camper bear :D ;D

all we caught was Carp or turtles lol the kids had a ball there though as the swinging ropes into the water are great and the creek follows the camp site right around... no opened fires while we were there BUT they had 44 gall drums welded onto a star picket stand that you could swing your pot off into the fire... kinda like a tripod... image attached :)

the photo above was taken new years of 2009 prior to the rains lol not sure of present state of grass... didn't bother us though :)

We camped at Flanagans over easter and the grass coverage was the best that we had seen in a long time, although only kangaroo grass which doesn't have a lot of body to it. We camped just to the left as you come in over the cattle grid, turned out to be the best spot as everyone else wanted to camp up near the waterhole/toilets and it was packed up that end. We had a ball though and didn't really have to put up with the crowds down that end, i think off peak we would camp a bit closer to the water and toilets. Cheers Paul |
