Title: Bedourie Camp Oven Bargains
Post by Derek Bullock on Aug 27th, 2006 at 1:43pm
Folks

My friend Cazza, was wandering around a Melbourne market today when she came across someone selling out their camping gear.  Amongst everything were 2 brand new Bedourie Camp Ovens, a 10" and a 12".  After a bit of haggling and an agreed price of $16.00 total for both I now have two more camp ovens.  Recommended retail for them is $92.10  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

For those who dont know them, this is what the Bedourie Camp Oven looks like.  You can click on the pic to take you to their website.

So, otherwise called Italian Damper?

What do you call a tasty cheese?

& what do you include in Italian style herbs?

:)

I still want the name of the cheese -- mozzarella, ricotta??

& the herbs, such as basil, oregano, marjoram???

I either buy or grow these separately.

:)

Recipe in hand I went to our truely local bulk food store.  They have a bunch of dried herbs called 'Italian Mix', so I asked what was in it and the very experienced staff on duty said:  "the bucket doesn't have that labelled, but my guess would be:  rosemary, thyme, oregano, parsley, and maybe basil."

They had the sun dried tomatoes too.  Happy chopping to me, happy chopping to me, ........

Well, it's not onions, even if they do look sticky.

The Italian herbs I buy are a premix from masterfoods.  Marjoram, basil, red bell peppers, rosemary, oregano, parsely, thyme.

The cheese is a tasty cheddar.  Not sure what that would be in Canada.  In saying that I have used mazzarella as well.
