Title: Looking for a camp Chef Post by RaymondJ on Oct 12th, 2006 at 7:11pm
Hi All,
I make a tv show in Brisbane called the 4x4 show. I'm looking for someone who is creative and can cook wonderful dishes in the camp oven. I would need you to cook 13 recipes and these would be filmed a few at a time at various locations around Brisbane. If anyone is interested please email me, as I would like to get started filming soon. I'm happy to answer any questions potential camp chefs may have. You can see examples of how the previous chef had performed online at www.the4x4show.net Check the website, watch the show and you'll see what I'm looking for. Don't be shy, step up and get your mug on tv ! Thanks for your time. Ray |

How come you have to subscribe to look at the cooking?
I'm overseas, 1/2 a world from you, at very eastern most edge of Canada. 8-) |

You need to register to watch the shows, and the cooking is at the end of the program.

That way I can count how many times a show has been viewed, and that info is important for getting sponsors.

Ah, but many of us hesitate to register.
Counter may work, but in my humble opinion (IMHO) you're losing viewers. :) |

Why is that? you've registered to look in here, it's no different.
Registration is free and you can watch a great show on the net. |

Here, I can read without registering. It's when think you'd like to post, then you need to register. Certainly, I have looked at sites and not registered. Only twice have I joined up where you had to do so to see what was there and to be approved to get to see. In both cases those who owned the forums didn't not feel technically able enough to leave the site open. & I already knew those who owned the sites. I know I'm not alone.

Well, I have had discussions with Ray and have decided to take this on. While not to many details available at this stage, I will be heading north shortly to face the cameras.
Will keep you all posted as much as I can. Currently putting together a selection of "interesting" recipes. Things like quail and venison come to mind. ;) Derek |

LK
My dream to one day make an instructional DVD on camp oven cooking. Work gets in the way these days. Only just managed the time to be able to do this one. However if Ray follows the same format you will be able to see the shows live on his site. Derek |

I have a slowish link, not dial-up, but slowish. Things from Oz are slower than things from N. Am. One gets discouraged.
