Title: Yeah, g'day ! Post by JohntheBastard on Dec 20th, 2006 at 4:25pm
This is a fascinating site.
And it brings back great memories of a few visits this expat. Kiwi previously made to Aus. - backpacking around the outback and the bush was a blast Sorry to hear about the wildfires. Heard a dreadful radio report today. Quite sobering. As well as loss of life and property, there's the wildlife being decimated too ! Meanwhile, it's about to snow again here in Oklahoma - grrrrrrrrrrr JohntheBastard |

Well, G'Day JtB over here.
What does Kia Ora mean and where do I find a site that has New Zealand jargon like some of the Australian slang sites? I'm a 'wanna visit type'. :) |

Kia Ora means "Greetings" or "Hello" in Maori. Not aware of a slang translation site, tho such is sure to exist somewhere. Perhaps you could email me privately in each instance - I'd be happy to help

Oops - Didn't finish the previous :
Jandals - Kiwi Thongs - Oz Slip-Ons - USA And on the note of thongs, in American English they are a rather brief, intimate item of female garb - briefer than a Bondi bathers togs. . . .lol JohntheBastard |

Intimate apparel for both guys and gals up north of your border JtB. Or, shall we say, a thong would disqualify you in a nudist community. :P |
