Title: COCIA Joins With Heat BeadsŪ Post by Derek Bullock on Oct 23rd, 2007 at 4:19pm
Check out the Heat BeadsŪ site for a short article and recipe from me. http://sizzle.heatbeads.com/
Heat BeadsŪ are starting to recognize the use of their products for camp oven cooking and have been sponsoring a number of National Camp Oven Events. The most latest being The Great Victorian Camp Oven Festival, Heyfield, Victoria. http://www.campovenfestival.com/index.html Derek |

Good old Heyfield making a comeback, eh.
In the 50's I worked at a couple of sawmills there and also the mill at Licola. Those days it was a very busy sawmilling town, about 8 mills from recollection plus all the logging contractors and Forestry infrastructure. Wont mention the pubs! Glenmaggie weir (lake Glenmaggie) was the spot for big trout (mudeyes, very deadly!), but up the river early in the season a bag limit of just keepers was all too common. Whilst the weir level was being raised, fly fishing immediately below the wall could be exceptional. These days I believe it is full of small redfin and the ubiquitous European carp, must be years since it was full and flowed 3ft. over the wall? So good on them, and I hope it is a full on success. cheers mikel |
