Title: 84th birthday
Post by Trev aus on Jan 20th, 2008 at 10:03am
We live in a street where we all hang out together, we all have names for each other & all stumble home pretty often.
A few doors up lives a mother & daugter 65 & 84 we all call them ma & grandma, well last night we through an 84th birthday for Grandma, there were about 20 of us, we had 2 camp ovens goin, one with a couple of legs & one with the veggies, plus everyone brought stuff, potato bake, flied wiss, etc etc,

Grandma gave us some 78 records a few years ago, so i started up my old wind up grammaphone & we played some of her 40's 78 she sang away knowing every word.

My daughter made her a cake with her favorite man on it

It was a great night we all left full & with the wobbly boot on, it took 2 of us to walk grandma home :)

A very nice gesture Trev.  I am sure the old dear appreciated it.  I wonder if that cake brought any old memories back for her.  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nice looking roasts there as well.

Sounds like a great party.  I went to a four year olds with a spiderman entertainer and swimming pool cake.  Wasnt nearly as interesting as that one.

Just love the big camp oven.

Good effort Trev, what's the oil drum for, a bit more heat & smoke when the beads die down? ;D

We had already taken the veggies out of the bottom oven when i took the photo.
It was at my mates across the road, he drives for an oil company, so he collects old signs, bottles, drum etc
& we all have drums ready when he brings the truck home ;) ;)
Grandma is a real card, she was drinking cast wine, & pulled the candle out of the cake with her teeth ;D
