Title: Recipes in Sub Headings
Post by Granny_Carolyn™ on May 13th, 2008 at 7:18am
There are just so many good recipes in here, is there any chance of making some subheadings? Meat, Fish, Crabs, Bread, Desserts etc etc?

May I respectfully suggest that, unless you just volunteered yourself for a job, Derek has run this site on his own so far.

If I want a recipe, I copy and paste it into WordPerfect and into my Cooking Recipes Directory on my hard drive.  I give it a topic title that will make sense to me, ie. Christmas cream cheese fudges (traditional and modern lean).  I know one layer has mint flavouring green colouring.

Or Pumpkin soup.....

Might I respectfully reply that Derek is a big boy and can reply for himself and I was simply asking a question  [smiley=tongue.gif].

Not a bad idea actually as it would save a bit of time hunting around and eventually the recipe section will outgrow itself.

What headings would people like.

Just looking at the Women's Weekly's "The Weekend Cook" and they have the following chapters. (Nice recipe book as well)

Soups & Starters

Stews, Curries & Tagines

Roasts, Bakes & Barbecues

Breads, Slices & Biscuits

Cakes, Pastries & Puddings

Maybe we could add Seafood and Breakfast Dishes as well

What's your thoughts people  :D

I think you have a good lot of headings there Derek, also maybe a miscellaneous one for other bits and pieces.  I am sure your pleased with all the different recipes being contributed.  It makes this wonderful site you have created very alive and interesting and with Furphys latest contributions no one could wonder "what shall I cook?".

Just created the new category as you can see and yes I was thinking of a miscellaneous section as well for Bits 'N Pieces and Recipe hints.

How about Pickles and Relishes..there would be some old recipes handed down from older generations.

"Your a wonder Mr Sparkle"  [smiley=dankk2.gif]

Really great Derek and you can still see very easily where any new posts are.

So often I think "I must try that one day" and if I printed out every recipe that I saw the woods would have no trees, this makes it very easy to come back and find  :-* :-* :-*

You most likely noticed that I changed some of the headings once I started moving things but yep, I am happy with it.
