Nope. If it was a 20" Furphy I might. Just be aware that when I spoke to the guy he did say that there was a lot of pitting on the lid and you could barely read the Metters name on the rim. ::) |

I expect that this is going to sell for a large amount of dollars.
The last genuine 15" Furphy I remember was well over $500 and I do believe that from a collectors perspective this one is rarer. Will have to wait and see. |

I was thinkin the same, then I thought it may be an old mud wasp nest. It matches a mark on the lid as well. But on the other hand there seems to be some flickers of paint or something on the base as well. ??????? one would think ya would clean that off before selling it though. Jono |

My experience is that the last 15 minutes will be the crazy time and then you have those who use the bidding assistance programs and you don't see them until the bidding has ended.
Decide what you think you would like to pay for it and hit it within the last 20 seconds. |

Yes I remember that LK, but IMHO I have to disagree, being mentioned on this forum is only a drop in the ocean with ebay being a public auction advertised on the biggest platform you can get, if someone is looking they'll find it. The only way you will get a true bargain is to find one stashed away in someones shed (and of course they dont know the true worth). Robbo |

Title: Re: METTERS 18" on Ebay Post by Derek on Jul 30th, 2008 at 8:17pm
I didn't bid because I actually thought it would draw more than that on auction.
Personally I think that was a good buy for someone. |
