Title: More Iron
Post by Derek on Jul 31st, 2008 at 5:39pm
Had a bit of time to kill today so went for a walk through Anaconda at Underwood.  Bad mistake.  :-/

They had the Camp Chef set consisting of a 12" Muley Camp Oven, 12" Round Skillet, 12" square skillet, Lid Lifter, Two Plastic Pan Scrapers and a Nylon Cutting Sheet.

Both the skillets have the Corps of Discovery logo on the base as can be seen in the photo below.

Not only that they are already preseasoned

I have a feeling Skip may already have this set.

The price.  $149 reduced to $99.  :P

Here is the set

The camp oven lid

Base of the square skillet.  Both are the same

Nope I didn't.  :P

Tell you what though the camp oven is a little beauty.  It's the same size and shape as my 12" Lodge.

Your right I did buy that set Derek, I also got it on sale 45% off from memory, it made for some very cheap buying and I use the skillets very regularly. The oven looks good and works better.

All the best

I just rang Anaconda as the MOTH wanted something off the catalogue - they still have the sets and deliver all over Oz (I did ask "EVEN QUEENSLAND?".  The Camp Chef Set is just the limit weight for Australia Post and it comes via mail at $5.95 normal or $7.95 registered.  Their phone number for orders is 1300 669 1376.  They did me a deal on the postage of two registered items and it all should arrive Monday/Tuesday, you couldnt ask for better than that could you, would cost us double at least in petrol to go pick them up. Wow.  I won't even bother going there again if I can get them for that.

Thanks Carolyn

Would bear checking Derek, as the girl was a "sweet young thing" and said she "thought so" when I queried the postage all over.  They might have a deal with the Post Office.  I know when I send things the weight and the post code are considered in the pricing.

My Muley arrived already, yesterday and in good condition, hand delivered by two handsome young men.

I must say I am glad I didnt go for a 20" I would never have been able to lift it.

Carolyn,

Would you please post TWO pictures  of your 'more'.

TWO pictures by attachment and then I'll tell you why TWO.........................

:-/

p.s. 498 + 2 = 500, which I think is platinum

That is cheap postage.
Might make a call myself.
Wonder if you get the discount on their 20% off days, if you don't attend in person?

I'll get back to you with the answer.

Yes you do.  That's how I got mine.  Paid for them on credit card and collected them the following week when the discount period was over.

My set is exactly the same as Derek's from the same source LK so no point in putting a photo in.

Goodness I can "talk" can't I  :D.  Still a long way to catch Skip and be a pretty pink like he is  ::)

The funniest thing is that when I tried out at Toastmasters I couldnt ever make their "one minute" Table Topics Section, always ran out of words before the minutes was up......but put me on a keyboard  ::)
