Title: The Slingers boy
Post by McFurph on Aug 1st, 2008 at 10:20pm
Hello all I am Jason and I am furphyslingers eldest son. My site name is McFurph and as we all know Mc means son of in scottish and Furph for my dad. Many thanx to all that have sent in condolences to this site and I will endeavour to live up to the reputation of my Old Fulla.A big task I know but I will do my best. His send off was pretty big with over 200 people there and Myself, My brother Ned and the rest of the pall bearers held him high on our shoulders as we left the church. He was buried with one of John cleals lodge 6" camp ovens so he can cook a feed for all upstairs.
cheers McFurph

Welcome from me also.  Your father will be remembered in many ways.  For me who didnt know him as long as some of the others, I printed out the damper recipe using powdered milk he shared with us and laminated it and will have this always as a memorial to him.

Welcome McFurph!  Great choice of name.

I have been a "member" for a short time and only used the CO 3 times but I'm hooked. Some real characters here with heaps to share.

Have fun!

Welcome Jason,

Kel and I became great internet mates, something neither of us would ever in our wildest dreams could have imagined when he was droving and I was a Jackeroo around Dirranbandi in the 60's
.
We came across each other by accident on the net and swopped a few things.
Although we had never met nor or had the opportunity to shake  hands, he holds a special place in my heart as a great mate.
Regards, Kev
