TO DAD

The constant sadness in my heart
Came when my father did depart

He was my mate, my rock, my mentor
And on occasion my bloody tormentor

He talked of family and how they came first
We shelter each other from pain and hurt

Please for me son when I'm gone
Have your cry and just move on

It's hard old mate as you can see
The tears still flow each day from me

So please forgive me and I will try
To go a day with eyes kept dry

I still love you old fulla It's true
I always will and I truly miss you

Heaven I'm told has made you better
And in time I'll see when were together

So it's bye for now and I'll try to move on
Till we are together a dad and his son.
