Title: Had a find! Post by Robbo on Sep 18th, 2008 at 11:16am
Had a find today, though many on this site may already have it. Went into our book exchange to see if they had any CO books hoping to find something like Jack Absolom and found a copy of the Furphy Foundry 125years Federation Edition Recipe book. Paid the princely sum of $6.50, seemed like a bargain to me, I dont know.
Looks like some good recipes to try and will post results as they come. http://byfiles.storage.live.com/y1pcdCp5DvkinKFtE5rvIzg13AuE6s6Pxn53-1vHiz_pFs1XLylOuTeNT-3CV4tvAuU Robbo |

Well done. That is a sweet pickup mate.. Any recipe in there for cheese and chive muffins or my chicken and veg au gratin. I sent those in about 8/9 years ago for a recipe comp and was never acknowledge by Furphy. Aart |

Like you TBF, I entered a recipe comp run by Furphy about eight or nine years ago, one for European Carp and one for a fruit loaf done in a baked bean tin in the camp oven. Never heard from them and I have often wondered if they ended up in a book or on the cutting room floor.
Any sign of them in your book Robbo ? BTW good score. pd |

Mate, your famous!!!! There are three.
A 'Fuit and Nut, No Knead Damper', a 'Savoury No Knead Damper' and a 'Chicken and Vegie Au Gratin' all contributed by a Mr Aart V--'t V---t from Joyner QLD. We have a published chef in our midst. There is also a 'Chocolate Self Saucin Pudding', a little different to Dereks though. Robbo |

LOOK WHAT I FOUND..FURPHY'S OFFER RE THE CAMP OVEN RECIPES
I just went through my collection of Go Camping magazines... Guess what I found in the Summer 2000 edition on page 39. The Calling All Cooks request. "Several entrants will receive a furphy CO with their name on the lid." further on. "Entrants will receive a signed copy of this book free of charge" TBF is anal about keeping precious magazines..camping, camp ovens etc This confirms that PD and I were slipped a Furphy.. PD also had a recipe included in the publication. Aart |

I think the best thing PD and TBF could do would be protest and send me all their Furphy products so I can dispose of these nasty items in a way acceptable {to me}. Then they would never have the trauma of looking at these detestable items again.
Kev PS I will pay postage if required :'( |

Hi guys. I just found this thread while looking for some new recipes and was curious to know if anything ever came of it. I know I'm a little late but I believe in giving credit when its due. Fairly slack on Furphy's part. Especially when most people on here advertise how good their products are.
