Title: OT MOST DANGEROUS CAKE IN THE WORLD
Post by Carolyn™ on Oct 28th, 2008 at 1:46pm
NOT DIET FRIENDLY, MAYBE COULD BE ADAPTED FOR CO BUT IS SIMPLE, QUICK, EASY AND TASTES GOOD AND WILL AMAZE THE GRANDDIES IF YOU HAVE THEM - MORE LIKE A PUDDING THAN A CAKE IMHO.

MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

Description:

The most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Ingredients:

1 Coffee Mug
4 tablespoons flour(that's plain flour, not self-raising)
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
Small splash of vanilla (or copy Derek and put Kahlua)

And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world?

Directions:

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well .
Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT!
It's good!Grandkids love to make it, and watch it too!

Can serve 2 if you want to share!

Note to Derek.  CD is NOT allowed within 30 meters of this thread/recipe.  No fair peeking back.  No sly sideways looks.  It's outa bounds.....
Got it!  No that's not what I meant. You are not allowed to get it.

Just like my Mum. (RBL most of the time at 22MM/lt) "yes Mum you are allowed cake, one small portion a day.  Not a small portion for breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afters and tea.....

Cakes are naughty - but not for me..... :D

To try to make it a little more diabetic friendly I will try it with wholemeal plain flour, and use Equal cooking granules instead of the sugar.
Will report back.
Possibly will be a little heavier consistancy with the wholemeal flour, but will work on it.
Sometimes for scones I use half/half white and wholemeal, but all of my family now tell me they really prefer the all wholemeal flour scones.

Looks good Derek, amazing its ok without any rising ingredient except the egg.

I had thoughts you could do similar with a small amount of chocolate self saucing recipe you use.  I gotta stop thinking about this as I am supposed to be dieting....

Its ideal for those who dont need a family sized dessert.

Found I didn't have any wholemeal flour  :(
So substituted some of the white flour with oatbran. :)
Probably won't go below 50/50 flour and oatbran or might be too stodgy, but with such a small amount might still try just using oatbran next time
Substituted the sugar with splenda granules
Didn't have any Choc Chips.

Still tasted soooo rich.  YUM YUM YUM

We still have our original microwave which is 600w
and any more than three mins cooking would have been too long I think.
For me I made it a big splash of vanilla as it brings the chocolate flavour out.
Can see this as a quick possibility of other flavoured coffee cup cakes, substituting the cocoa with flour and adding other flavours.
For us it was plenty for two (with cream or icecream  ;) )
