Title: FURPHY FRYING PANS
Post by Nelson on Feb 17th, 2009 at 7:54pm
I came across these two frying pans in a camping store today, the tag says FURPHY but I could not see any cast marks on them. Not sure if they are genuine furphys or from china, I have never seen a furphy frying pan before, but by the look of them very heavy and a rough finish .They well could be original . Anyway if anyone is interested in them I can give you the shop details. If they will not post them I am sure I can buy them and post them.

G'day Nelson. I have two genuine (Australian) Furphy frying pans, similar to the bottom pic but the handles have holes to enable them to be hung up, they also have the name Furphy and seasoning instructions clearly cast on the base.
I would treat those two with a big dose of suspicion !!!

Thanks for the heads up PD, I thought it was strange that there was no furphy stamp on them, when furphy seam to like putting there mark on the things they make. Maybe the shop owner was confused
;)

Hi Nelson..

Maybe the shop owner has been closely watching results on Ebay.

You beat me to that Aart.  Seems that anything remotely looking or seeming like a Furphy is bringing big dollars.

I know that supply and demand drives market forces..but this is out of control.
The shonks are coming out to try and make a dodgy dollar.

How many rough chinese COs have there been lately on ebay?

I'M SERIOSLY PAST COLLECTING.
Just want to cook in them now.
