When you come across something like this, you want to go to the home pages of the ovens from our side of the pond.
For this one remember Lodge Manufacturing for your google search. It's http://www.lodgemfg.com/Logic-dutch-oven.asp Of course, there I have gone to the Dutch oven pages, There are also pages fro Camp Dutch Ovens. http://www.lodgemfg.com/Logic-camp-dutch-ovens.asp Now, you can see this this is a real Lodge Lid. Lid handle, flange style, flat top, all fit, even though it's an earlier finish (pre-foundry seasoning of Lodge Logic.) The flat bottom pots/ovens have a straight sided design, not a sloped to bottom design. That ain't a Lodge bottom. I think most of my Lodges of that era. This pic is from a couple of years ago. There are 3 Camp Chef's there too. 1 classic style and 2 Lewis & Clark. The other 12D is a Griswold-Wagner of 1957 or later. :-/ CampOven_SpiderTopIMG_0855on.jpg (85 KB | ) |

Thanks LK and LOGFIRE
You have confirmed my suspiscions. I'll steer clear of that one. I so would like to get a Lodge 6" Would be a perfect size for 2 persons desserts when travelling the wallaby. May have to squeeze one into the luggage when I go to Morth America next year. Aart |

Definitely not a Lodge base. The sides are not straight enough. TBF wrote on Mar 21st, 2009 at 12:31pm:
They aint that big. Get two. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Used mine over the past few days for melting butter a few times and making butterscotch sauce today. A very versatile little camp oven. |

I see two things wrong with the pot in question.
1. The base is not a lodge. Lodge does produce bases like that (no legs) the sides are more vertical but not true vertical. 2. The lid type, being a camp oven lid, is not matched with a kitchen oven base at the factory. I also note that there are no pics of the bottom of the base. Best, Duncan |
