Title: A Few Days Either Side Of 27/28 September - Spring time COG in NSW. Post by poddy dodger on Jul 29th, 2009 at 6:24pm
While a date is yet to be decided Astro and myself have taken a vote which was passed unanimously to have a COG at Macquarie Woods, west of Orange in September or even October.
Both venue and time are open for discussion so have your say. pd |

PD I did a mini Youtube of Macquarie Woods it looks fine and we will come IF it doesnt clash with the Camper/Trailer Annual Gathering at Nyngan which starts around 1 October. You would all be welcome to come to that and they do have fires for CO Cooking. There is a small fee though but showers are available. The people are friendly and interested in much the same as most of us seem to be. I will be going to the Melbourne Arts Festival the next after that.
Its always a headache deciding on a date and I do understand if everyone else wants to go when I cant. |

Macquarie woods sounds good to me, the 26th & 27th Sep is clear of school holidays and before the long weekend in October. My two bobs worth.

Carolyn, flying or driving ? If driving flag me a date that you may be coming through, see if we can't rustle up a feed, might get some other COCIA folks over for a meet and greet one afternoon. If flying and you need accommodation I could get you the friends and family rate in the Hotel. Let me Know. |

Thanks for the offers Michael. I am flying with a Theatre Appreciation Group and its probably the 4th year I have been, there can be up to about 18 from all over Sydney and its all organised by our Lecturer Charlie Little and he has a Travel Agent do all the arrangements. We sometimes do 3-4 things in a day and mostly dont get the itinerary until the day we leave so organising anything outside of that is usually difficult. I push to get it early and if I do will let you know so maybe a coffee break even during the day might be possible.
If your up this way "free camping" at least is available on the outskirts of Sydney. :D I will remember your offer of family rates and may take you up on it another time and come down for a girls long weekend of shopping and coffee. :D |

West of Orange, ALL September & October would be nice,,,,,, however, 8 weeks of COG feasting may take it's toll on the figure, (not to mention the Alchohol consumption :D :D :D) But seriously, Sounds good, I'm in. I like the sound of Nyngan Too?????? Cheers, Mick. |

Title: Re: Spring time COG in NSW. Post by Carolyn™ on Aug 1st, 2009 at 6:10am
I consulted Sparky and he says that maybe if the NSW COG is the 25/26 September we could go to that and then go up to the Warrumbungles for a return visit and then back to the Camper Trailer Annual Gathering at Nyngan which opens on Sunday the 4. We would probably get there earlier and would be leaving by the Wednesday at the latest.
So we now have BBC as well as Michael and Mummsy to bribe re PD's secret ingredient for damper :D :D http://www.campertrailers.org/national_meet_2009.htm Remember this is not all of Macquarie Woods just part of it. |

Judy and I are ready to go, Russell and Jill are starters on that weekend and I may have another two who are keen, so lets see if that date fits everybody's weekend.

Re my damper recipe: A "One Off", offer; come to the COG at Macquarie Woods and all will be revealed lol. I will do a damper or three, no ingredients left out, no secrets witheld, nothing up my sleeve, if the weather's fine I will do it topless if Carolyn promises to behave herself.
Like Muzz says, 26 & 27 th of September are lookin' good, I've spoken to a few others and they are all keen. pd |

Title: Re: Spring time COG in NSW. Post by Carolyn™ on Aug 8th, 2009 at 7:47am
So as there has been no objections it looks like the date is settled I wonder if Derek could change the Subject line to show the date i.e. 26/27 Sep Spring Time COG in NSW. Some of these COG threads get so long its hard to find the actual date :D
Geez PD I had a dyslexic moment and thought for a second you were asking me to be topless, I will look forward to watching you "reveal all", even photograph "it" if you let me. :o :D :D :D |

If you want the truth ...... NO :D :D but it will suffice I suppose... have to dock you some pay for not following instructions ;D ;D ;D Sooty I feel the same about the COGS in Qld. Insurmountable problem unless we win the Lotto Millions. I will do my best to bribe PD LOL but I think he will be a hard nut to crack!!!! and he seems wary of me ; http://maps.google.com.au/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Macquare+Woods+State+Forest&sll=-33.403931,149.47998&sspn=7.15114,9.876709&ie=UTF8&ll=-34.606085,149.688721&spn=7.277107,9.876709&z=7 |

Well it looks like only PD and us would be going and we could get together much closer to home.
Best cancel it for another time. We were trying to fit it in and will just go to Nyngan from here rather than fill in time between the two. Thanks for the early notice. |

Thanks for the invite Michaelb, I checked it on google looks a nice area. We enjoyed your company and will some time up the track get with you all again for a cog but this is a busy time of year and having already been down your way and with me going to Melbourne in the next month it will have to wait for another time.

Looks like we put it (Macquarie Woods) off 'til a later date, we are fairly flexible so anything before Christmas would be good.
