I like my fishing, but as a north Queenslander, I don’t think I could survive fishing in that cold a place, fish or no fish. :)

For the swimming part, yes, that is a spoof.  People do the dip after a sauna bath, a few of them. but that no, that's a spoof.

As you would be aware, fishing at temperatures below zero can at times, be problematic and frustrating.

A few years ago in late May, when I was spin fishing in freezing temperatures at Rocky Valley Reservoir ( North East Victoria).

I caught a nice rainbow trout on my third cast for the morning.  :D

On my fifth cast, I hooked into a REALLY nice rainbow  :D :D

and at that point, I was beginning to think that I was in store for some great fishing,  ;Dhowever while playing the fish, the water adhering to the line, snap froze the line to the runners and also to the drum of the reel.  >:(

Of course once this happened, I lost the fish and after several unsuccessful attempts to thaw the line I had to call it a day.  :'( :'( :'(

Do you ever do any handlining, SJ?
