Title: Water Fountains Post by Kingsthorpe David on Dec 8th, 2009 at 6:00pm
I own a 5 Gall Clark & Co Water Fountain.
This does not apply to this item but I saw one at Scotland Yard Marburg last Sunday. The interior was covered in what looked like white paint, I think ths is scale from years of boiling water. I also have a Clark & Co No 5 Lid bought off eBay, the inside is full of the same white paint! Should I clean it up or leave it? KD |

What about that CLR product
Have you ever tried that. It works well on trmoving calcium build up. I'd clean it and then seal it. Aart |

MY opinion KD.......if its a natural build up of minerals from the water boiled in it leave it alone....It should act as a natural barrier against rust....Ive also heard that some of these old fountains were enameled inside.......Dont know if thats true but thats what one old fella told me. Id look into it further before i took action to remove it......Astro might know more as i think he owns a few of these.
