ever thought about stainless lpg tank! does not hold gas in pores like steel / light and bigger than keg , i am going to do 1/ put legs on bottom, hinge on back cut holes in bottom and top similar to webber. should be able to get 3 COs in it, put bolts through side 4 to 5" high for plate /then can use heat beads or coals in bottom. with lid should give you even heat. As for spit Big W have cheap ones that will fit with a bit of playing around. think outside of square sometimes helps if not try 6 pack :D Daryl |

BQMAX - member on here has one on his veranda at Lismore. He also has a stainless steel camp oven that he made out of an old heavy duty saucepan. Haven't seen him online for a while though. |

G'day Daryl, I have converted dozens of old steel LPG bottles into braziers or cookers and thought as long as they had been well vented and left upside down to drain any residual gas before cutting they were safe. Talking to a bloke who was selling converted gas bottles at a market and he was saying they do hold very flammable material which burns without colour and will give you a bit of hurry-up, the gas is held in the steel on the inside of the bottle, mmmm, will have to rethink cutting old bottles. pd |
