Title: Chocolate Jaffles Post by Lady_Joanella on Jan 13th, 2010 at 10:45am
Reading "Lifestyle" in our local rag I found this recipe that sounds interestingly decadant. I have copied it direct, so don't laugh at some of the basic instructions in the method.
10gm butter 8 slices white bread Nutella 1 banana or apple sliced thinly 2 tbsp sultanas 2 tbsp shredded coconut Cream, custard or yoghurt to serve (optional) Preheat the jaffle iron. Butter the bread on one side. Place a slice of bread on each side of the jaffle iron, buttered side down. Spread nutella on both slices and top one of the slices with fruit. Sprinkle fruit with sultanas and coconut. Close the jaffe iron and cut off protruding bread. Cook over a medium heat for three minutes, or until golden. Turn and cook for a further two minutes. Open the jaffle iron and make a kiagonal cut in the jaffle. Cool slightly. Oops, I should have written "make a diagonal cut in the jaffle" will leave it as is - sounds a good word kiagonal ;D From Camping Chef by Heidi Marfurt (recipe published in The Canberra Times Jan 13/01/10) There were some other easy and enticing recipes in the same article, so I am going to check out her book in our local bookstore tomorrow. |
