Title: Possibly a 20 inch Albion Lid
Post by Mackerel Whisperer on Jun 10th, 2010 at 10:10am
I have heard through "my people" that I may be able to get my hands on a 20 inch Albion base (No lid). He thinks it has 3 drain holes drilled in the base (What are these people thinkin!!!). He may sell for $100.

Cupla Questions:

Anyone heard of a 20 inch Albion Before?

Anyone got a spare 20 inch Albion Lid?

Whats the chances of getting the holes repaired for use?

Is it worth 100 Bucks?

When I see it I will believe it.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers
Jono

I would go with SBB on this one ...they are still working on a cure for the commen cold, so one day some one will find a simple way to repair cast iron.

You CAN weld cast iron.  A simple and cheap arc welder will suffice.  Buy cast iron rods from your local welding store and off you go.  Just make sure it's sparklin' clean before you start welding.

The other stuff - I have no idea.   ::)

Not sure yet Soot, once I see it with my own eyes I'll believe it. The old bloke was confident that it read "Albion Maryborough 20".

Not yet mate, I haven't seen the bloke again.

Ya wouldn't belive that in our local "pocket trader" there was an ad in the camping section. "Albion Campers Oven, GC, $100"

I was away camping Friday-Sunday and didn't get a chance to read it until monday morning and sure enough it had been sold first thing Friday when the mag. came out.

Thinking about it now... Sooty was in town!!!
