Another newby here from Perth. Found my way here via myswag, what a great site this is. I have a 12 inch bedourie that is about 20 years old and I love cooking in it whenever we get the chance. Mostly damper and roasts but will explore some of the other beaut recipes I see here now.

I have had a look but can not find a thread dedicated to permanent home firepits. Is there one? I want to build a permanent structure out of recycled solid double brick. Either a ring or an oval and would love to see what others have for ideas.

If you have the space..this one is 6 metres in dia...with a firepit of 1.1 m in dia.

Mine is the same as SBB, loose bricks if you have to move it it is easy, made for using beads on and is under cover.

Thanks guys, some nice firepits around. I had no idea that cooking with heatbeads was so popular. I have cooked with beads in my weber but never thought about using them with my CO. I was more after a firepit that I can use as a fire as well as for cooking. I guess with all the fire bans these days though heat beads mean you can cook year around, is this right?
