Title: Another unnamed trophy
Post by LogFire on May 7th, 2011 at 8:59pm
Picked this one up for $65 today. There are no markings other than the oval raised piece inside the lid which may indicate it is an Albion copy. Measurements 10" bottom, 12" top, 5" depth.

Very unusual black pot there Keith.
Has the style of a mixture of pots i've seen around.

Not sure this is an Albion copy.  What it is I cannot say who made it but the legs and the lid make it somewhat original.  I've seen the "tag" on a lid like that before but I just can't work out where.  Queensland Railways style?????
Can't quite see if the bail "ears" are rounded on the bottom....

A quality find nevertheless...... ;D ;D

If by Queensland Railways Style you are referring to the ovens made at the Bundaberg Foundary, the dome in the lid is too pronounced and there is no cross on the lid though the legs and lid lifter part look very similar.
