Quite a few members on here have Billmans. Very expensive though. I remember the guys up at Rockhampton getting a whole palet of them delivered a coupe of years ago.

I think it was Muz and PD went to the foundry and saw the process.

There was also some discussion that confired that Billmans made camp ovens for Furphy before Furphy wet to China in 2000.

I certainly haven't regretted buying a full set of Billman's camp ovens with customized lids. Its true they are not cheap, but they are very well made, a pleasure to cook with and an heirloom to pass onto your kids.

All the things that I consider important in a good camp oven are included in Billmans ovens. I have several and wouldn't part with them, expensive true, but you get what you pay for.
Muzz and I ordered several over the phone a couple of years ago then went down to Castlemaine to pick them up and got a tour of the foundry too.

Here's some pics of my Billmans 12" in action, taken in a snow bound hut  up in the Victorian Alps during early September.  Needless to say there's no shortage of brass monkeys up in that country!  ;D

Pineapple meringue pudding is definitely not what I would call a 'weight watchers' dessert and certainly not a dish I regularly eat, however after a full day's skiing, its a delicious and comforting dessert which is guaranteed to replenish the carbs and warm the core, especially on a cold and wintry night when the wind howls and snow flurries dance and swirl on the roof of my snug little hut.   :P

Thanks Jack, it certainly hit the spot.   ;)  And of course after a good meal its always a great time to break out the old................................. ;D ;D ;D

I thinking last night as to why I tend to use my Billmans pots more than my other COs and I think it has a lot to do with the fact that they are readily replaceable, which is in contrast to my other pots which are mostly either antique or difficult to replace.
