Title: New Addition Post by Glenndog on Mar 28th, 2012 at 5:28pm
Just arrived today. I will use this as my main "take camping oven" and retire my Australian ones so they won't get hurt.

It Is a 10 quart deep, cost about $92.50 with $74 postage if puchased alone from Amazon though I also got a lodge lifter, bag and a couple of rome pie irons. I wouldn;t mind the 17 inch lodge skillet, would be great for bacon and eggs.

Did you get the CAMP DUTCH OVEN COOKING 101 book in the 14"? A very informative booklet and worth a few dollars in itself.
What were the Rome irons? |

Yes KD I did get that book with it and it is good. I bought the double and the Panini irons for about $25/26 each.

Brilliant! Just what I would have advised you to get. I have them in the campervan and they work well over hot coals or a two burner picnic stove. Look in the supermarkets for those extra wide sliced loaves - the make escapes me, but they are a perfect fit.. KD |

Check this: http://www.rvingoutpost.com/specs.php?prodnum=1665&title=Panini Press I bought several Rome items from Mrs Mik at RVing Outpost, the Rome Waffle irons are nice too, see: http://www.rvingoutpost.com/specs.php?prodnum=2134&title=Waffle Iron -- Chuck Wagon |

The extra wide sliced bread that fits the Rome Panini iron is Lawson's Traditional Bread, found some in Coles today. Or you could use Panini, but this is my preference.
[IMG] btw dont forget to season the Rome Panini iron Glenndog. I did mine in a Weber Q Family Size. KD |
