Title: SA COG Post by Rufzgutz on Jul 13th, 2012 at 11:15pm
Is there any interest from the South Ozzies for a COG ?
Not sure how many SA's on this forum, but seems to be members from the S/E, Whyalla, Pt Augusta, and Adelaide. show your interest here, and show how far you would travel, and we can try and organise something. I would run a cog if we could muster up at least 4 goers. Many venues to choose from depending on interest. (Kuitpo Forest, Mt Crawford Forest, Towitta bush camp near Sedan, Lakeside Camping Ground near Purnong) all close enough for day visits from Adelaide. Burra Creek Gorge, Wilmington or Melrose Showground in the MId-North I think SmokeyDave would go to any of these, so only need 2 more members to make it a goer. Rick |

Might be a few Victorians who could join you as well.
Cheers |

I edited the venues to include Lakeside Camp Ground (campfire all year except Total fire Ban days) and took off Black Cockatoo.
Any interest from the South East could attend SA/Vic cog's ;) I'm just throwing this around to see if there is any interest from Adelaide or the Northern Areas members (or Lurkers :D) for a closer to Home cog. Nothing ventured, nothing gained :) Ps SmokeyDave, stop picking a location. As a well respected Camp Elder in the camping/cooking community, your role is to support a venue that others would like to go to :P :P :-* ;D ;D |

Hi my name is Brian and I live in the Copper Triangle of South Australia. Been watching this thread since it started. Please tell me what you do at these COG besides cook food and have fun? Do you camp over for the weekend? Etc.? Thanks Brian.

g'day Brian.
We do camp at the venue, but if anyone want's to come for a day trip or stay in alternative accommodation, we can work around that. The beauty about a cog is seeing what others use and how they use it. I have only been to the one cog at Dimboola last year and loved it. Most just stay at camp and get stuck into cooking/ relaxing and a few beverages Copper Triangle??? well, we could have a cornish pastie cook-off and maybe a maypole dance :D :D Rick |

Willmington or Towitta will be ok with me.
But I will only find out if I am working the weekend on the Friday before at 4pm. |

Title: Re: SA COG Post by Rufzgutz on Apr 9th, 2013 at 10:14pm
I am going to book Towitta for the 18/19 May weekend. We will have exclusive use.
If we can get 3 Cocia members to commit we will call it a COG. If not, it will be a pre-oldfarts birthday bash for our old mate SmokeyDave :D :D |

Title: Re: SA COG Post by Smokeydk on Apr 10th, 2013 at 9:59am
Couple more for Towitta would be good......I'll see if our mate can go ;)

Title: Re: SA COG Post by Rufzgutz on Apr 10th, 2013 at 1:11pm
I can make it for the weekend before (mothers day weekend)
Still leaves time for us to be home for dinner. Does that help brian ? |
|
Title: Re: SA COG Post by brianp on Apr 10th, 2013 at 1:30pm
That looks good for us. But I still need to wait till the Friday at 4pm to get the all clear from work for the weekend. So if you booked it and I had to work and not be able to come I would feel real bad.
