You challenge me to Cornish Pastie making and you Ruffie will be playing with Fire. My Cornish Pasties are like nothing this forum has ever seen. |

Did you know that traditional Cornish Pasties sometimes had one end filled with the traditional mix of meat and veg and the other end filled with sweets like apple.
Be bloody be awful if you squirt the sauce in the wrong end. |

They also had a big knob of pastry on the end that the coal miners used to hold with their dirty coal covered hands to eat them. The pastry knob was discarded :)

Yes but I never discard the knob of pastry. I eat all of it. |

My family Cornish ancestors were miners at Moonta, then Burra and finally Broken Hill where I finally popped out in this world :D :D
Pasties were always in mum's oven [smiley=thumbsup.gif] [smiley=thumbsup.gif] I reckon that's where I got my favourite saying "Yum, Yum, Pigs Bum" [smiley=chef.gif] [smiley=chef.gif] |
