Title: SA Towitta COG 10-12 May 2013 Post by Rufzgutz on Apr 10th, 2013 at 8:57pm
Towitta is approx 100 kilometres N/E from Adelaide.
We will have sole use of the campground for the Mothers Day Weekend. (10-12 May). Camping costs are minimal as we will not use the Shed facilities or power. (We can use the large verandah if we want) There are flushing toilets but no showers and tank water is available. Firewood can be collected from the park. SmokeyDave & Rosie and myself & Cindy are quite happy to spend a quiet weekend here by ourselves if there are no other takers. This could well be the minniest of all Cog's ;D ;D This is the place to show your interest if you would like to attend. |

and thats why I like Towitta SmokeyDave.
I can camp a loooong way away from your noisey caravan ;D ;D ;D We don't seem to have a lot of SA cocia members ( a couple south east, one mid north, one yorke peninsula, maybe one eyre peninsula and a couple adelaide metro ) but would love to see a couple more come out of the woodwork If any onlookers are uneasy about getting involved in a camp oven camp, you will be cooking alongside a couple of novices :D :D We need you to show us a thing or two ;D ;D |

I have had a mothers day luncheon at my place the last 10 years. This year it will be a mothers day dinner.
Smokey will be there Friday noon I reckon and we will rock in about 5pm. We probably will leave around noon sunday. You need to raise the bar with your practicing Dave. Kangaroo tail soup and whatever you can knock up with emu would be OK for sat dinner. |

No worries Steve, it's always going to be difficult making a weekend to suit everyone. If you want to be involved in a Cog, let us know when and where you woul like to go.
Smokeydave and myself camp regularly, so making it a Cog ain't difficult. You seem keen with the campovens so would be good to catch up. Towitta is a day trip from Adelaide if anyone wants to call in for a visit on Saturday.MWe will be cooking extra to take home for our mothers day dinner Sunday arvo. Don't worry about the typo's.too hard to fix on the mobile. |

One more week to go.
About time we met up again Smokey, after camping opposite ends of the Murray last weekend :) It's gunna be bloody scarey if there's only the 4 of us there [smiley=SHOCKED.gif] [smiley=SHOCKED.gif] The cemetery is next to the campground, and the infamous Towitta Murder is still unsolved http://www.sedan.sa.au/bertha-schippan/ I'll see if the caretaker will leave a nightlight on for us. It will be an easy camp cooking weekend. I'm thinking of cornish pasties, fruit scones, apricot crumble, dump cakes, maybe a kangaroo stew, banana & sultana jaffle's, camp oven roasted nuts. We will be taking a few containers to store our goodies for our Mothers Day Tea Party when we get home. One advantage if no one else comes along is that SmokeyDave will probably attempt again his famous naked campfire leap. Last attempt, (and it was purely coincidental) this was on the radio :) :) http://youtu.be/7IjgZGhHrYY or http://youtu.be/7IjgZGhHrYY |

Possibly will be one of the smallest gatherings ever organised if Brian has to work.
The smallest that I have been involved in was a bush poets 4wd club trip to Murray Bridge. Cindy had to sit in the backseat so our convoy had a tail-end charlie :D :D :D I'm glad that we have put this up though. ''From little things, Big things grow'' :) :) Dave and I have both been hosts to 3 vehicle meets before with the campertrailer group. That grew to around 12 vehicles to Towitta 4 years ago. http://www.campertrailers.org/towitta_weekend.htm And last visit to Towitta we had around 56 people at an allsorts gathering http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lo8WjRuGcAc Looks like you might get to do you Naked Campfire Dance again ''Dangles'' ;D ;D |

Bloody Beautiful. !!!
Enjoying the peace and quiet after overnight rain. Just got to sneak the memory card from smokeydaves camera. He loves taking pics of black bits, and he snuck around snapping a few yesterday. |

One of the most enjoyable camps I have been to. especially when Dave & Rosie left early this morning and we had the place to ourselves ;D
Brian had to work, so just the 4 of us enjoying the ambience. Will do another one if we can drum up some interest. Will add some pics later in the week sometime. Smokeydave has plenty and will probably throw up a few (not the black ones ;D ;D ;D). My best effort was a roast in my 3'' campoven :D :D And my campoven kangaroo jerky was a ripper ...shut up Dave !!!!!!! Followed by some campoven smoked kangaroo. Some tasty campoven meals produced and we were all happy campers last night [smiley=cheers2.gif] [smiley=cheers2.gif] [smiley=cheers2.gif] Cindy whipped up a ripper of a kiwi/mandarin/diced fruit/coconut cake with CINNAMON if she gets stuck with the next challenge :) .....shut up Dave !!!!!!!! This morning for brekkie, I bbq'ed up some chicken/apple & CINNAMON sausages ... bloody beautiful. And my first taste of crocodile, Yum. will buy that again. |
