I am very new to camp oven cooking. So I'll give anything a try.
And I got a secret recipe for Sponge Cake.
When our kids were young I use to make our kids birthday sponge cakes. So why cant I do it in a camp oven?
If it don't work out I will put up photos of some nice Lamingtons. ;D ;D
Any tips?

The only tips I can think of you probably already have covered ...

use a rack/trivet under your cake tin to allow the air inside the camp oven to circulate[list bull-redball]

and a thermometer in your camp oven to get the heat right to start with
