These things are used a lot in the States by people cooking with camp ovens. Very similar to the Camp Chef stove.

Put a plate on top and you have a nice portable cooking table. Have seen many photos of the guys over there starting 'their' version of heat beads using a chimney on them as well.

Didn't know they were available in Australia until now

Sure would beat kneeling on the ground to use a gas ring burner, and dual purpose is always good!
