Title: Portable Water Bladder - 110 Litres Post by Derek on Aug 8th, 2014 at 3:09pm
Many a time we have been camped out where amenities and water are very limited and our caravan water supply has dwindled. I used to carry several 20 litre drums with me and travel into the nearest town to fill them. Very inconvenient.
Someone told me about Fleximake - http://www.fleximake.com.au/. They make all sorts of bladders for liquid storage. Contacted them and subsequently bought a 110 litre water bladder that has been designed to sit on the floor between the front and back seats of the Sahara. I also bought from them a small pump for transferring between the bladder and the van. I like the idea of this as the centre of gravity is low and it dosn't add any weight to the caravan. Fits nicely into a 30 litre container. That extra 110 litres will go a long way :) Here are some photos All fits in this little tub Pump is in a little bag Laying the empty bladder out in the car Filling up. As you can see it fills from the n=bottom and their is a breather on top of the bladder Pumping out |

That seems a very practical idea for the free campers away from a water supply.
I reckon a few might start filling them up at a winery [smiley=cheers2.gif] [smiley=cheers2.gif] |

That looks like a good idea Derek. You will have to give us an updated review after your trip.

Only a tad late but how did your bladder go, Derek? They seem like a perfect piece of equipment that takes up a fairly useless space. Are they safe to drink from,or do they have a plastic taste?

Construction material is food grade so no taste at all. Must admit it has not been used for over a year even though we lived full time on the van for 5 months.
But . . . . . if it is needed it is just sitting in the back of the car. |
